New Johannesburg Sector file for Euroscope 3.0a
Version: 3.2.0
Release Date: 30th April 2008
A new sectorfile for Johannesburg has been uploaded to the
website for your download and use. All
the files included in this download are specifically written for the new
Euroscope version 3.0a but will be backward compatible with earlier
versions. This version fixes a few
errors that used to appear when loading the .ese file and corrects the SIDs and
STARs around FAJS.
There are a few extra files included in this update that
will help new users to set Euroscope up.
One drawback of Euroscope is that it is labour intensive to setup and
get all the items displaying as they should on the radar screen. These files, if loaded correctly, will set
Euroscope up to display the sector file as I have it. Of course you can then set your individual
settings to your liking afterwards.
Suggested install and usage:
Extract the files from the zip into a “Johannesburg” folder
in Euroscope. Open Euroscope and when it
is finished loading click the “OPEN SCT” menu button on the menu bar at the top
of the screen. Next select “Load Sector
File”. Point Euroscope to the folder you
created and select the .sct file.
After the sector files loads click the “OPEN SCT” button
again and select “Open …” Point
Euroscope to the .asr file in your folder. After that, click on the “OTHER SET” button on the top menu
bar and select “Load all settings”.
Point Euroscope to the ‘settings.txt’ file. You will soon see all the taxiways, runways
and airways on the screen in different colours.
(Ahhh… Thats better…. :-D)
After that, close Euroscope without saving and it will
prompt you to save your changes (3 times as different settings are saved each
time). Once Euroscope is fully closed,
re-open it and it should load everything with no hitch. And that’s it… From here on you can tweak
just about everything about it to your liking.
