The VATSAF Aviation Academy provides a full range of Virtual training courses to Virtual Air Traffic Controllers and Pilots.

We are committed to real-world practices and we undertake to give each member the skills and knowledge to successfully take on the challenge faced in the provision of air traffic control services in a virtual environment

Many of our members are real-world pilots and controllers and their input here is invaluable. Our trainers are hand picked and the course-content is customised and compiled by experts in their field.

We are accredited by the ATNS ATC College in Johannesburg, South Africa, who provide us with the course subjects. We believe that our accreditation does more than merely satisfy Virtual Aviation requirements, It also cements relationships with accrediting organisations, which helps us gain members.

We are associated with the Aero Club South Africa via our affiliation with Associtation of Virtual Aviation of South Africa

To begin with your Virtual Career as ATC or Pilot you will require:

Hardware:

A PC that can run MS-Flight Simulator and the VATSIM Software
An Internet Connection
Joystick / Yoke and Pedals (Pilots)
Headset and Microphone

Software:

A legal copy of MS-Flight Simulator (Pilots)
FSInn (Pilots)
Have the Aeroworx Scenery installed (Pilots)
Have Flightspy installed (Pilots)
